Dr. KJ

Lt Col Darrell Walton graduated the US Air Force Academy in 2001 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He served as an A-10A/C and MC-12W pilot for 17 years and was a qualified instructor, evaluator, Forward Air Controller (FAC-A), Combat Search and Rescue Mission Commander, and served as both a training officer and standards officer. He has four combat deployments to both Afghanistan and Iraq, and he recently retired as an officer in the USAF Reserves.
Darrell was a member of the United States Skydiving Team and competed at the World Championships in 2008 and the World Games in 2009, accumulating over 5000 jumps.
Darrell is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Krav Maga and has multiple years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Sayoc Kali, and various other edged-weapons systems. He has been training in defensive firearms tactics for 10 years and is a NRA instructor, NRA Range Safety Officer, and a Surefire Academy certified low-light instructor. Darrell has been a volunteer law-enforcement officer for two different agencies.
As a lifelong outdoorsman, Darrell developed a love of bushcraft, wilderness survival, urban survival, and escape and evasion. He has had the opportunity to train with some of the best instructors in the country to hone his skills. He is also a graduate of the USAF SERE School, Arctic Survival School, and Water Survival School.
In addition to his survival training, Darrell has training in trauma medicine, herbal medicine, primitive food preservation, tracking, and reconnaissance. He is also a certified scuba diver and freediver.
Darrell’s vision is to apply the mindset, planning, and instructional skills he learned as a fighter pilot to teaching people how to take care of themselves and their community.

Dr. Karissa Walton is a licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD) in the State of Arizona. She completed medical school and clinical training at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in 2018. Dr. Karissa specializes in treating chronic pain and neurological conditions. She is the founder of "The Mobile Health Doc," the first mobile medical facility in Northern Arizona. Dr. Karissa is trained and/or certified in modalities such as IV Nutritional Therapy, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), Neurofeedback, and Low-Level Laser Therapy. She is ACLS and BLS certified and is also working on an ACNB board certification in Functional Neurology, a system that utilizes brain stimulation and rehabilitation exercises to restore dysfunctional neurological pathways.
In addition to her medical school training, Dr. Karissa has studied herbal medicine extensively under clinical herbalist and former U.S. Special Forces Medic, Sam Coffman. She is a former Wilderness First Responder and has done volunteer medical work in austere conditions in Mexico, Thailand, Haiti, and Tanzania.
Karissa is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Krav Maga, a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and has multiple years of experience in other mixed systems. She has been training in defensive firearms tactics for 7 years and is a NRA-certified pistol instructor.
She is an avid outdoorswoman and served on the Southern Arizona Search & Rescue team and National Ski Patrol. Dr. Karissa has trained in various fields of self-sufficiency and survival under some of the best instructors in the country. She is also a certified scuba diver, freediver, skydiver, and kettlebell instructor.
Dr. Karissa believes that “Docere” (Doctor as Teacher) is a lost concept in society today and her vision is to help bring that idea back.
